One of my favourite pastimes in London is dancing and I am a particular fan of the Swing Dancing Scene, which involves Lindy Hop, Balboa, Jive and some Blues. Because the music for these dances ranges from the 1920s through to the 50s it attracts a lot of people who like to dress in vintage fashion, some people do so throughout their day to day lives and others just dress up for events. Over the last year I have started to photograph some of the people on the scene who have caught my eye; their style and creative expression is a photographer's dream and I have tried to photograph each person in context to their connection to the vintage scene - whether it be a DJ playing vintage records, a collector of 40s clothing, a dance teacher or a fifties style singer. I hope you love this section of my website as much as I do - I would be delighted to hear from all vintage fans who might wish to commission their own portrait.
